Q: I have cargo insurance; how is Container Protect different?

Most Cargo Insurance packages only cover cargo damage and those that do cover container damage typically also have hidden deductibles. Container Protect gives you exclusive protection against any damage to your container and makes your logistics cost predictable.

Q: Why is the price and coverage of the products different for each country?

While the repair material (mainly steel or wooden panel) costs more or less the same in all countries, the biggest portion of the total Repair costs derives from labour cost. Hence, in order to have a competitive pricing across the globe, we define the coverage and tariffs based on cost mapping studies we do in the countries. By doing so, we can also charge in local currency to make it easier for customers on the importing countries to pay for it.

Q: Can I buy Container Protect for any container and commodity?

Yes, all container types and commodities are covered by Container Protect.

Q: Can I purchase Container Protect on a shipment level?

Yes. We can file Container Protect for a full contract or for specific products in the contract. Container Protect can also be added to individual shipments at time of booking.

Q: Can I buy Container Protect for only some of the containers in my shipment?

No, the same Container Protect package must be purchased for all containers under the same shipment, covered under a single B/L. If you are shipping containers that shall not be covered by Container Protect cover, they need to be housed under a separate B/L.

Q: If Container Protect Essential, which has limited coverage, is mandatory on the country of destination of my cargo but I want to have unlimited coverage, what should I do?

In that case you should buy the Container Protect Add-On, which upgrades the Container Protect coverage to unlimited.
