Reconfiguration of the South America West Coast and Caribbean to Europe services

Dear valued customer,

Hamburg Süd is pleased to announce the reconfiguration of the South America West Coast and Caribbean to Europe services. The revised products offer the most reliable network, fast transit times, and breadth of coverage in the trades between West Coast of South America, Central America and Europe.

The SAWC 1 (CLX) service remains the best in class all water product from North Europe including UK, Nordic and Baltic ports to the Caribbean basin and the major South American West Coast markets Chile and Peru. In order to offer the best transit times in the market, it will stop calling Santa Marta (Colombia), which is covered by ECUBEX service. The SAWC 2 service remains unchanged.

The ECUBEX service now offers an extensive Mexico coverage (Veracruz, Altamira, Progreso) with fastest transit times from key North European and UK ports. On the northbound leg it offers an optimized and fast connection from Ecuador, Guayaquil to North Europe, which is supported by dropping Puerto Bolivar from the schedule.

The ECUMED service will be upgraded and offers coverage to and from Italy by competitive feeder connections from West Med hubs Algeciras and Tangier while the WMCS service will discontinue.

The EMCS service offers a streamlined service between North Europe and Central America with direct calls to Belize and Puerto Moin, Costa Rica, while the Mexico coverage has been shifted to ECUBEX service.
