Temporary Cancellation of Chicago to Long Beach Rail Service
(Florham Park, NJ)...We would like to provide further information pertaining to the temporary hold on units moving in a major intermodal rail link in the United States. A temporary hold remains in effect for pending shipments originating from Logistics Park Chicago to the Ports of Long Beach/Los Angeles. Congestion at the destination ramp has resulted in an exorbitant quantity of dwelling units at BNSF Hobart in Los Angeles, which services all Ocean Terminals in Southern California.
Impact to both Door and Ramp Customers:
No receiving for two weeks, effective on September 24, 2021 for ramp and door moves returning to Logistics Park Chicago, including other inland origins which transit through this facility. Projected embargo end date is Friday, October 8, 2021. As a result, during this time, no rail billing will be issued from the following origin locations to Long Beach:
Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Detroit, Louisville, Minneapolis
Please Note: This announcement supersedes any current early release date information contained in job orders, booking confirmation for cargo moving from the above ramps for the next two weeks, Friday, September 24, 2021 to Friday October 8, 2021.
An update on the first receiving date in Chicago for the “Debussy“ 134s will be provided next week.
