Customer Advisory - Temporary Cancellation of Chicago to Long Beach Rail Service

Intermodal Advisory

(Florham Park, NJ)... We would like to provide an update pertaining to the temporary hold on units moving in a major intermodal rail link in the United States.

The temporary hold communicated on September 28, 2021 remains in effect through October 15 for pending shipments originating and trans-shipping in Chicago via Logistics Park Ramp, to the Ports of Long Beach/Los Angeles.

Impact to both Door and Ramp Customers:

Effective September 24, 2021, there will be no receiving until October 15th for Ramp and door moves returning to Logistics Park Chicago, Including other inland origins which transit through this facility. Projected embargo end date of Friday, October 15, 2021. As a result, during this time, no rail billing will be issued from the following origin locations to Long Beach.

Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Detroit, Louisville, Minneapolis

We at Hamburg Süd are making all efforts to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

Please Note: This announcement supersedes any current Early Receiving Date (ERD) information contained in job orders, booking confirmation for cargo moving from the above ramps from Friday, September 24, 2021 to Friday, October 8, 2021.

An update on the first receiving date in Chicago for the “Debussy“ 134s will be provided next week.
