(Florham Park, NJ)...We would like to provide further information regarding the status of rail service from the Midwest to Long Beach. As communicated on Friday October 22nd,the temporary hold on units moving from Logistics Park Chicago to Long Beach will continue through October 29th. In addition, another temporary hold has been announcedon all westbound intermodal traffic to Long Beach on the Union Pacific, primarily from the Global 4 facility in Chicago Joliet.
Impact to both Door and Ramp Customers:
No receiving for ramp and door moves returning to Logistics Park Chicago and Global 4 Chicago Joliet, including other inland origins which transit through these facilities. As a result, during this time, no rail billing will be issued from the following origin locations to Long Beach:
Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus, Detroit, Louisville, Minneapolis
Due to these extreme circumstances, we will put a booking stop in place for all bookings that will move over the two above mentioned facilities to Long Beach. We will provide a weekly update on the situation to share any changes to the above information.
Please contact your Hamburg Süd representative with any questions that you may have.
