Customer Advisory - Cargo Delay for Shipments on the Chartered Vessel “Oakland”

Update #5

(Florham Park, NJ)…We wanted to update you on the status of your cargo onboard the “Oakland“ voyage 238W/248E, which encountered mechanical issues enroute to Asia.

As communicated on November 14th, the salvage tug safely connected with the vessel and began towage to bring the “Oakland“ to APM Terminals in Tangier, Morocco. Based on the progress of the towage, our latest estimates have the vessel reaching port on Sunday, November 27th, conditions permitting.

With our prioritized berth, we anticipate all cargo will be fully discharged from the vessel within 24- hours of arrival and will then be available for the planned connection to reach its final destination.

Our operations team has already replanned cargo based on this timeframe and all new routings are in place.

We apologize for the continued inconvenience of this delay and greatly appreciate your patience as we have worked to resolve the situation as safely and quickly as possible.

We will inform you once the vessel berths for discharge operations.

Please contact your Hamburg Süd representative with any questions you may have.
