Low Water Level in Paraguay - Draft Restriction

Hamburg Süd wishes to advise customers that, records in the rules of the Prefectura General Naval indicate a reduction in the operational draft of ships that transit through the Paraguay River, based on recent water levels development.

Over past weeks we have done our outmost to deliver your cargo whilst managing the current situation as best as possible. However, still we are experiencing a significant increase in overall operational costs.

To enable us to continue to connect your supply chain, Hamburg Süd will be introducing Low Water Additional surcharge (LWA BARG) effective February 1st, 2023 for non-regulated countries and February 5th, 2023 for regulated countries. This surcharge will be applicable to all containers from or into Paraguay.
